Describe Your Style
Simple and timeless. I love capturing the small details that tell a big story. I love the connection between people and my goal is to capture that connection in a unique way with beautiful colors or soft black & white images.
What made you decide to become a photographer?
I used to use photography as a reference for my drawings and paintings growing up. One day I realized that photography was just another medium to tell a story and I fell in love with it even more. It allows me to express creative freedom and yet work with people which for me is a blessing.
How did you learn? Degree? Self-taught? Workshops?
Self-taught and some online workshops.
How long have you had your Photography Business?
4 years
What do you love most about having your own business?
Freedom to work in the way that works best for me
What do you love the least?
Bookkeeping
What do you wish you had known prior to starting your own photography business?
That the business side of it isn’t easy and not to take things personally.
Studio or on-location?
On location but I do love my studio too.
What was your biggest “A-ha” moment?
When I fully understood what all the settings on manual and how to use them to manipulate light.
Where do you find inspiration for your art?
Everywhere. A tree, a book, magazines, someone’s smile, really just anything sparks an idea.
Something you’re still learning?…
Off camera flash, posing and to not be so awkward.
How do you create balance between your business and the rest of life?
I’ll let you know when I get there lol
How do you measure success?
when you can feel it in your whole body the love for what you do and how it effects those around you.
What has been your most memorable shoot & why?
It has to be my son sitting in a bowl of cheerios. He wanted nothing to do with me and my camera that day and I only got one shot of him during the whole session. He was miserable but the only shot I got was so cute. I love it.
What’s your Favorite Image? And why is it your favorite?
I have too many to name just one but if I absolutely have to say just one it would be the photograph of my son smiling at me for the very first time. Its a constant reminder of why I am so grateful and why I do what I do.

My large 5 in 1 reflector
What is your go to lens & why?
50mm 1.4. I love this lens because it’s soft, yet sharp and I love the bokeh!!!
