Milky Way TV #8: DIY Tulle Skirt + Lace Dress
Today we’re getting crafty on Milky Way TV!
I’m sure you’ve seen some (ok – a LOT!) of my maternity images using a tulle skirt with lace ‘top.’ Mamas love this outfit and it works beautifully in studio or outside (I may, or may not, have it in 6 different colours)
It’s fairly simple to make – and that’s what today’s episode is all about!

Supplies
For Tulle Skirt (no sew!)4 rolls of Tulle (I got the 6″ x 100 yards – in 10′ long lengths)pair of scissorselastic band (~40″) or rope (would make it longer since there is no stretch)tape measure
For lace tube dress (one easy stitch!) – starts at 8:44Piece of stretch lace (can add a stretch jersey material underneath for more coverage)Scissors, tape measure + sewing machine (or you could handstitch) + some pins* measure 30″ width, fold in half + stitch up the side (you can make various sizes to accommodate different sized clients – though depending on how stretchy your lace is, one dress really does fit lots of body type!)
For rhinestone beltPiece of ribbon (can choose various widths!)Rhinestone-sparkly necklaceglue gun
Pin this for easy reference!

Hi Lisa, I’ve watched your tutorial a few times & I finally made my own tulle skirt & used it in a photoshoot this past Saturday. I’m disappointed in mine, I thought by using all 40 yds I had alot of the skirt, BUT I see that you used @ least 600 yards !!! No wonder yours looks so much better than mine. I’m going to try again, but I gotta build up my nerve to tackle another one. wish me luck !!!
Where can I find a video to make this?
Hi Stephanie! You can find it here on Youtube!
