When we first read about the story of TOMS, we realized we needed to find a way to work giving into our business model.

TOMS ‘One for One™’campaign (where they donate a pair a shoes for every pair purchased) really captured our imagination…but how to make it work for us?

We weren’t selling shoes…we were selling e-courses + retreats. Then it struck us. We are providing education.

We strongly believe in the power of education. And it just so happened that Erin (aka: silent partner of Team Milky Way) was a board-member for a local non-profit organization that recently built a school in Guinea, West Africa in 2011 based on the request from the elders and parents in the village.

There was our answer. Our own version of the One for One™ model.

Take a Class. Give a Class.

For every student who signs up for one of our classes, we donate a portion of the registration to help keep the school running (and new schools being built).

So, when take a class with us, you’re not only learning something new…you are helping one of these children learn something new too. And we think that’s pretty darn awesome!
