Like many of you, I stumbled my way into the photography world. But I was hooked.
Unfortunately, my first images were NOTHING like I envisioned in my mind. Perhaps you can relate?
But in order to do that, we need to feel confident in our skills - our posing, our lighting, our editing.
As we continually elevate our craft and find new sources of inspiration, our art improves, our ability to charge more increases and above all, we feel creatively fulfilled.
hello lovely!
I just want to remind you that if I can do it so can you. I started with absolutely ZERO knowledge about my camera, lighting, posing or editing.
But with patience, passion and some mentors who gave me a hand-up, my work has improved (and so has my confidence!)
I look forward to being a part of YOUR photography journey - to help you evolve and push your creative limits!
You’re an artist, a dreamer, a business boss, and a creative.
I’m on a mission to create uplifting online experiences for photographers ready to elevate their art, their business and their mindset (...and have fun along the way!)
I'm passionate about creating communities where new and experienced photographers can connect with one another in a positive, drama-free space.
What I'm
loving
Intentional slowness, taking time with my family in the midst of the chaotic & messy teenage years and hobbies that feed my soul - whether it be baking sourdough, riverfront walks, or curling up with a good book, or let's be honest a couple hours scrolling TikTok for cat videos and recipes
What I'm
learning
That inspiration doesn’t have to come in lightning bolts—it often comes to me gently through research, curiosity, and consistent practice. I’m learning to trust the cycles of my creativity and that my biggest breakthroughs come from doing, not waiting.
What I'm
not about
Gatekeeping, hustle culture, or copying what everyone else is doing. I’m not here for comparison spirals or following trends that don't align. I'm more interested in depth over noise, real connection, honest conversations, and lots of laughter.
what I
believe
That there is room for us all to succeed and there is no 'one right way' to create art, to run a business or to even define success. We write our own permission slips.

Fair question..."The Milky Way" doesn't exactly seem like a likely name candidate for a photography school.
This space originally was created because my inbox was overflowing with DMs and PMs from photographers wanting to know how I used studio lighting, tips on newborn posing, how I did my edits, and I knew I couldn't keep up answering them one-by-one.
Since my photography business is called Milk & Honey Photography, the name “Milky Way” was just a fun play on words because I was sharing the 'milk and honey' way of doing things (Get it? Yeah...it's a groaner!)
I never imagined it would grow to include online Retreats with thousands of students and over a hundred different instructors...if I would have ever imagined, I likely would have come up with something else!
It's hard to describe what she does. Stuff. Lots of stuff (except stay silent...she never does that!)
Random facts you don’t need to know: Erin is scared of the dark. As in, really, really scared of the dark. She also used to pick lemons in Australia. It wasn’t a long career. 2 days to be exact.
From producing our podcast, The Art & Soul Show to helping our amazing students access their retreats and courses, while also trying to keep me on task (no small request!), Corinne is truly our team unicorn.
She's also our teacher liaison for our online retreats and does about a thousand other things!
If you have a question in one of our Facebook groups, there’s a good chance Leah has answered it! As a former student who blew us away with her dedication to helping other students, we were lucky to have Leah formally join our team as a Community Mentor.
